Our Intermediate School hosts a career day when parents present and share their experiences working within various fields such as film, drama, law, medicine, sales, construction, and more!
Annual carnival organized by the staff for the school community for the last 40 years. There are rides, dunk tanks, crafts, games, concessions, and fun; a great night is had by all that attend. There have been more than 40 county fairs and counting!
Students, with help from their friends and families, create original short films. Kids pour their passion and creativity into visual storytelling. Students see their own work up on the big screen at The United Palace, and funds raised would go to the PTA and be funneled back into the school. Our 187 students have created over 200 films. Our Elementary Music teacher, Mr. Jennings composes original curriculum-based musicals for students kindergarten to 4th grade. Our Intermediate Music teacher, Mr. T also puts on some incredible shows. Some titles include Not So Pitch Perfect and It Sounds Like Music. The IS has also put on many musicals including Beauty and the Beast and Lion King.​
Our 187 community gathers surround the gymnasium to view the IS grades play one another in volleyball along with cheerleading performances between games. It ends with an intense game between the 8th grade students and the 187 staff.
Our students celebrate their hard work through Science Fairs, Pi Day, Spanish and English Spelling Bees, Slam Poetry, publishing parties, seed counting pumpkin parties, wax museums, state fairs, drama presentations, art expositions, culturalheritage projects, and more!
Our 187 students compete on a soccer and track team on our track and soccer pitch!
Our 187 8th graders enjoy their final year at 187 with many memorable trips and ceremonies.
187 has been spreading hope and support for breast cancer awareness for over the last 10 years. Students wear pink to school during the week- especially on Move-A-Thon day!

Our PTO hosts an annual tree sale with help from our 187 students!
